About the Role:

MathWorks is seeking a Senior Software Program Manager to join its Infrastructure, Architecture, and Tools Teams (IAT) in India. This role plays a key part in partnering with global development leadership to plan, track, and execute complex software engineering initiatives. These efforts deliver robust tools and infrastructures that enable MathWorks’ larger development organization.

As a Program Manager in the India IAT division, you'll collaborate with U.S. counterparts to enhance communication and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for analyzing program-related metrics to support reporting and decision-making. Your role will involve mitigating risks, aligning with agile practices, and working across multiple technical domains and teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Align project plans with broader organizational strategies and develop detailed roadmaps.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with geographically distributed teams.
  • Proactively assess risks and develop mitigation strategies in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • Clearly communicate program status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, leading problem-solving sessions, and implementing best practices.
  • Define, track, and report relevant metrics to assess project progress and quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • or Master’s degree and 3+ years
  • or Ph.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience managing agile software development projects in a commercial setting
  • Experience with CI/CD development environments and DevOps/SRE practices
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in developing, tracking, and reporting software development metrics
  • Proficiency in collaborative tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
  • Background in software, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools is a plus
